Students will write two short (600-800 words) research essays during the semester. You may choose topics from any chapter’s listing of To Dig Deeper in the class textbook.(20%)
Each essay should include at least two “hard” sources other than the class textbook. Sources used will be cited at the end of the essay using whichever format (APA, MLA, etc.) the student is most familiar with.
Each essay will be graded using the following rubric:
Organization and Flow 10%
Thesis clear and well-developed 20%
Quality of “hard” sources 30%
Length and format 10%
Conclusion/Answer clear and well-developed 30%
