Directions for Peer Review
- Post a draft of your Researched Position Paper (The Signature Assignment) by Wednesday. Using the peer review worksheet, respond to at least two peer drafts by Friday. After reading your peer’s draft, respond to the questions on the worksheet and then save the document to your computer. Reply to each peer draft by responding to the draft posting and attaching the completed peer worksheet to your reply.
- When responding to each draft, be positive and offer constructive criticism. Avoid negative comments. You also should refrain from answering with “yes” and “no” responses. You must provide at least 2-4 sentences for each point in order to be eligible to receive full credit. Also, if a drafter does not address one of the points listed, you will need to state that the point is not addressed and make a recommendation of how the writer might work this important aspect of the assignment into his or her proposal.
- While not required, we prefer that you copy and paste your responses to the peer review form into the discussion board text box. This allows readers to view your responses without having to download an attachment.
If a draft already has a review, please move on to drafts that have no reviews. If all drafts have been reviewed at least once, then feel free to review any draft you choose.
Finally, if you choose to post only your own draft and do not review the drafts of at least two of your peers, you will receive a “0” for the assignment.
